Ready and waiting....

I'm house-sitting my mum's place at the moment and have just raided her extensive fabric collection. I've decided to have a go at patchwork and am impatiently waiting for her to return so I can ask plenty of questions on how to get started. Sure, I could just cut up squares and get sewing, but I want to approach this project properly and learn something about the technique. I'm just not sure I can wait 5 more days....
